🚗 How far is Nuga Retreat from Kandy, and what are the road conditions like?

Nuga Retreat is located approximately 40 km from the city of Kandy, in the scenic Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. The journey takes about 1.5 hours by car, depending on traffic. The roads are generally well-maintained and suitable for standard vehicles, though the final approach includes some winding countryside lanes that add to the charm of the journey.

🌦 What are the weather conditions like at the resort?

The weather at Nuga Retreat is pleasantly cooler than in the lowlands, thanks to its elevated location.

  • December to February: Cool and fresh, ideal for outdoor activities and enjoying the crisp mountain air.

  • March to April / September to November: Mild and comfortable, with occasional showers.

  • May to August: Warm and humid, with intermittent rainfall, typical of the hill country climate.

We recommend bringing light clothing for the day, a light jacket for cooler evenings, and rain gear if traveling during the wetter months.

Nuga Retreat offers two unique accommodation styles designed to immerse guests in the surrounding nature:

  • Sky Rooms – Available with or without a private balcony, these elevated rooms provide sweeping views of the mountains and treetops, perfect for enjoying the serenity of the highlands.

  • Jungle Villas – Spacious villas nestled amidst lush greenery, offering privacy and comfort. Each villa features a private plunge pool, allowing guests to unwind while surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.

Both room types are designed with a boutique touch, combining modern comfort with a close connection to the natural environment.
