A Glimpse into the Avian World Around Nuga:

The central highlands of Sri Lanka, particularly the areas we inhabit, are renowned for their biodiversity, and birds are no exception. You can expect to encounter a fascinating mix of species, from vibrant resident birds that call these hills home year-round to unique endemics found nowhere else on earth.

  • Keep an eye out for common yet captivating residents like the Yellow-fronted Barbet with its striking colors and distinctive call, the melodious Black-headed Oriole, and the energetic Common Myna. You might also spot various species of sunbirds flitting amongst the blossoms, their iridescent feathers catching the sunlight.
